This article is excellent, and I can feel the frustration. I have the same frustration. I didn’t vote for Donald Trump in 2016. I just couldn’t do it. I also didn’t vote for Clinton. I “threw away my vote,” as some might say. But it was the only way I could look in the mirror.
I have no idea what to do in 2020. I can’t see myself voting for any of the democratic nominees. I do not want to vote for Donald Trump. It feels like if I do I am condoning some really icky things. But I have to say I am weary of the “three-year temper tantrum,” as one of my less tactful friends calls it. Neither of us like Trump, but we are sick of feeling like people would hate oxygen if he endorsed it, just like I’m tired of hearing about how he can do no wrong and is basically the messiah.
Donald Trump is a man. Just a man. He may be in office less than a year, or just over four. Either way, he will eventually leave the White House, grow older, die, and rot in a grave. Just like everyone else. He seems like either the messiah or the end of the world. But he isn’t.
We survived a revolution, outside wars, two world wars, even a civil war. A mogul turned reality show host is NOT going to bring our country to its knees. Or deliver it to the great salvation.
Okay sorry for the rant….
