Six Christian Writers You Should Follow on Medium

Because they love the Jesus who saved us

I began writing on Medium in the fall of 2019. I wrote continually until life became extremely busy, COVID hit, and I needed to make some budget cuts. Yes, 5.00 a month isn't much, but if you do that for every subscription, it adds up.

However, busy life and a tight budget weren’t the only reasons I left Medium. I was tired of seeing myself generalized, mocked, and misrepresented. Not me individually, but me as part of whatever belief system or set of values the vast majority seemed to disagree with at the moment. And the “Christian” articles were especially frustrating. Most of the time, the algorithm showed me “Christian” articles that were either mocking authentic Christianity or twisting it to fit some nonbiblical feel-good dismissal of the uncomfortable part of God’s Word.

So I decided Medium was no longer for me, and I moved on.

I felt a desire to come back. I have become convinced that when the voices preaching a lie are louder than the voices preaching the truth, that the worst thing we can do is just be quiet. And so, timidly and prayerfully, I dipped my toe back into the water.
