I read it in 3rd grade, so maybe that's why I thought it was awesome? And I didn't know it was part of a series. I still like it just because it was my first foray into "scifi"-ish writing after bingeing on Little House and Anne of Green gables lol

But Mr.s Frisby and the Rats of Nimh is better.
