I have long thought the reason people don't like the term "white priviledge" is because of the connotation of wealth or snobbishness. "She had a privileged upbringing." "His wealth afforded him every privilege."

Actually, the word privilege is much more mundane. It's simply a built-in advantage - no matter how small. Fir example, since my dad was a department head when I went to college, I had the privilege of registering early if I wanted. Since I worked at Kohl's, I had the privilege of a 15% discount. Since I'm a white woman, I have the privilege of not worrying that someone is going to call 911 if I'm walking in the neighborhood.
