I had a friend who - about 20 years ago - wanted to write a book entitled "All We Got Was Another Eight Hours." Meaning that all we got was MORE work to do. And less time to do it. I too am SO thankful I was able to have a career. I would have sucked at staying home all day vacuuming in pearls. But you're right. Everything else didn't change to accommodate all this new opportunity. The housing market especially just sucked all that "extra income" right up. Research how quickly houses skyrocketed in price once two income households became more common. Gross.

We need big changes that do more than just "break the glass ceiling." We need to lift up the people underneath that glassy top floor.
