I feel terrible, old, and mean.

I’m very sorry her feelings were so hurt. Ugh, I hate to see anyone in pain.

But you were right when you said the idea was unoriginal. That’s because the boxes in boxes gift trick has been around for AGES.

Like I said, it hurts my heart that she was so affected.

But…..honestly…..the reaction to a one time prank seems….over the top. Leaving college? Ended friendship? Over boxes.

Trust me when I say I’m not an insensitive person. I’ve cried with countless friends over traumas, breakups, failed exams, humilations... I am one who will apologize over something the recipient of the apology doesn’t even have a memory of, it was so small.

But….as I age, I realize there are mountains, there are hills, and there are bumps.

This seems somewhere between a bump and a hill. I hope you haven’t carried this for years.

I expect my comment won’t be popular. But I worry for the future of someone who has such difficulty recovering from a set of boxes. Life is going to be exhausting for such a person.
