I do care about my husband's opinion. But he just wants me to do what makes me happy. That said, what first struck me about your article was reading those magazines growing up. I did too, and I too did not fit the description.

I didn't date much in high school. I wasn't pretty. I mean, my parents and friends said I was, but I wasn't stupid. My nose was too big, my chin was too small, and I was 5'10". I had tio cover up my zits with concealer. I thought life was so unfair.

Now I am glad I am not pretty. If people like me, I know they like ME. My husband is so in love HE thinks I;m gorgeous (smile), but because I don't fit the mold, I know he loves ME.

There are definite advantages to NOT being pretty.
